Curry – Golden Anchovy

Recommended time to cook, in green


The fish :

Golden anchovy – 15-20

For Marination :

Garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, tamarind paste ½ t spoon each

For Curry

Grated fresh coconut 1 bowl ( soup bowl ), dry red chili 6 ( or according to taste), coriander seeds 1 t spoon, garlic petals 3 chopped onion 2 t spoon, black pepper 4, rice flour ½ t spoon,


Step 1 :

Clean the fish by removing all scales, fins and head . slit the stomach and clean it properly be sure that no black residue is left.

Step 2:

prepare marination mixture with the ingredients given

Step 3 :

Marinate the fish with the mixture   at least for 30 min.

Step 4:

Curry – take ingredients for curry in a bowl and Grind all the ingredients together to fine paste.

Step 5 :

Heat 1 t spoon oil add finely chopped onion fry till it becomes brown, add marinated fish stir gently for just a sec. add the paste of coconut , add water according to required consistency , salt to taste, stir very gently , and frequently till the fish is cooked. ( don’t allow to boil . if it comes to boil add a little water.)
